Insurance Overview: What to Know Before Your Appointment
Empowering Wellness Choices
Understanding your insurance benefits can be confusing, so here’s a quick overview of common terms and how they relate to your therapy sessions or psychological assessments.
-
A copay is a fixed amount you pay at each visit, determined by your insurance plan.
-
Coinsurance means you share a percentage of the session cost with your insurance company after your deductible is met.
-
Your deductible is the amount you must pay out of pocket each year before your insurance starts covering services.
If your therapist is in-network, our billing department will submit claims directly to your insurance on your behalf, and you’ll be responsible for your plan’s copay or coinsurance. If your therapist is out-of-network, you may still be able to use any eligible out-of-network benefits, but would pay the session fee upfront and submit a superbill (or itemized receipt) from your insurance provider.
